"Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts." Rachel Carson
The moon is now waning, but is still bright in the sky. All are tucked into their sleeping bags in their cabins, we call birdhouses because that is how they are shaped. The birdhouses have 4 beds and there are 4 houses/village. The boys sleep on one side of camp and the girls on the other, with the instructors in between.
All crews visited the low challenge courses here to work on building community within their crews and within their class. There is a great photo of Mr. LeWinter helping a student feel comfortable with a trust lean.
Some crews have the help of peer mentors, all of whom are alumnus of the Crew Orientation course. For some, this is their third year coming up here. One student, Patrick, went on a 3 week course in Maine where Brad Waugspack, our trusty logistics manager, was his instructor. What a small world it is.
Shown in one photo are students from Mr. Ahmed's crew: Kiana, Angela, Pamela and Iraida. Angela is also shown at her crews' campfire earlier this evening. All crews are doing a remarkable job. It is our pleasure to host them.
Glad you guys are having fun. Thanks NYC Outward bound for them.
