Validus Day 4

This is the last night for Validus 9th graders here at the Sharpe Reservation. Most crews spent some time this afternoon called a "solo." This is a silent, reflective period of time that students spend by themselves, but close to their instructors. It is our policy to maintain a 100% sight and/or sound distance from instructors to students. Students are given journal prompts and may also write a letter to themselves that they will be given 6 months in the future. Shown in the photos are Ms. Ware's crew on solo and a fabulous group shot afterwards.

Most crews are sitting around a campfire at this very moment. Ms. Parisi's crew is on a night hike with Mwenye Seville where they will experience some night vision activities. They probably never thought they could walk in the dark without any external light. The moon is almost full and provides us with plenty of light if your eyes are adjusted properly.

One of the photos shows Mr. LoMuscio's crew proudly displaying the flag they made in an activity called Create a Nation. The students create their ideal nation and explore how they would live there. The number 14 shown represents the number of students in this crew. Great work!
