McCown: Still Smiling on Day 3

"You see things; and you say, 'Why?' But I dream things that never were ; and I say, 'Why not?" George Bernard Shaw

Perhaps all of us have been asking ourselves WHY, about the rain today, which seemed like it would never end. Well, it has now! All crews either left for their backpacking adventure or have returned from their adventure with stories to tell.

You can just imagine that there are clothes strung everywhere. I am so proud of all students for they have been superstars this week! We have not heard many complaints about the weather. This is the spirit.

I wanted to include some photos of our fine young men in the kitchen washing the dishes. All students learn how to cook and clean out here in the forest. Everyone has been doing their fair share, which is one of the essential elements of being a crew. We have a statement in Outward Bound that goes: We are crew, not passengers.
